Chet,
Air cool but not as cold as yesterday, tram seats warmed by vents underneath, sun in window, empty streets on Sunday. Saw young mother with two cute kids, holding hands crossing the street, little girl leaning head against mother’s thigh, smile on woman’s face almost made me cry. Nedele (neh-dyell-eh) is Czech for Sunday, literally it means "no work." How’s that for biblical roots? I’m a firm believer in this no-work Sunday ethic. Everything here shuts down around 11 a.m. on Saturday, except of course for pubs and restaurants which are in full swing serving frothy pilseners in close smoky rooms from 9 a.m. on.
