normally, when
standing on a sidewalk, i don't love honking cars and people shouting in my ear, but today it was welcome. manette bridge in bremerton is 1,550 feet long and by noon a crowd covered it end to end, shoulder to shoulder, to show each other we're not alone. most passersby expressed their support, but one chud drove by twice to scream slurs till red in the face--so much ruder than the kindly grandpa who picked us off one by one with his finger gun as he slowrolled by, daydream of murder in his eye. |
