I fixate on the flags. They all say: America,
America, America.... Why so many flags?
Maybe because the land has been so recently
and hotly contested--first invaded by Spain with
its conquistadors and missionaries (that's
muscular Christianity), then briefly controlled by
a newly independent Mexico, then usurped by
America as a bonus for defending slavery in Texas (see la intervención norteamericana).

Where else would you see so many of a
country's flags? North Korea, probably.
