"haole eyes" is a term Hawaiians use to describe the avidity of out-
siders and we embodied that today when we impulsively claimed this
kingsize bedroom set via trashnothing. sarah and i wrangled it all down a
narrow flight of stairs and loaded it up like Okies, at which point we snapped out
of it and realized we'd made a huge mistake. luckily, NW Furniture Bank was nearby
and took most of it off our hands. it wasn't bad, just more than we needed. but we were stuck
with the bed. we'll retrofit the headboard but the mattress was no good. as we pondered what to do
with the boxsprings, bill rolled up with a giant zucchini. he needed boxsprings! a happy ending after all.
