There's a shit ton
of grass to cut here. It's pretty much a fulltime job. By the time you get
to the end you have to go back to the start. I haven't even gotten to the
end yet because the grass way out back is about 2' tall and there are woody
tree-like weeds twice that high which need to be chopped with big shears
that look like bolt-cutters. Today I flushed this rabbit --kind of my namesake
if you consider it zverina, or game--out of a tall patch I was about
to mow. When I moved on elsewhere, it ran back for cover so I decided to
let that area grow. I do the same for wildflowers and yellow dandelions so
the bees have somewhere to go. I feel a little bad about cutting the grass
so do what I can to preserve some habitat. |
