cats are so cute. they are covered
in fur.
caught a ride with
jed & chrystya,
all the way up to the peninsula, an
old forest service cabin, now rentable
for $40 night. sarah was supposed to go
but she stayed home with miso. i like
the looks of the place, nice front porch
overlooking patches of first growth forest
replacing clear cuts from when timber boomed
here in the foothills of the olympics. no cats,
but one drowned mouse in a bucket,
eyes open,
tongue sticking out, it looks like it's swimming,
or maybe just drinking, both of which it probably
did in last moments of mouse panic, fast tiny heart
wildly beating, sending out ripples to the edge. |
